Rob, my father in law, has kindly given us his gigantic (400 liter) aquarium, with the filter and everything.
It used to have his Koi (giant gold fish) in it, but they have moved to the new pond outside.
Anyways, we got this great stuff, then misplaced a part of the pump. I actually do not remember seeing it, but we have to order a new one.
Then, when we et it, we are going to set an amazing freshwater aquarium. I am really excited.
I did want to do a salt water one, but am far to poor.
We already have some real plants growing in there, we just need the filter for the fish.
Updates coming.

All in one
OK, I have tried to edit this post so the pictures and cations line up for about 15 minutes and have now lost patience, so lets play a little game called who is in this picture!
We had some busy times this last week.
Kasper started boys scouts camp yesterday. Seven days and nights of camping fun. I really hope it goes well...
The fish moved out to the country to live with Inga and Rob. Rob has become seriously obsessed with aquariums and fish lately so I know they will be well cared for.
Stefán got pneumonia and spent some quality time at the hospital. He is doing much better now.
Davíð has had so much family come from Kanada to visit. It has been great for me to meet most of them for the first time. There has been Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and cousins. Here is some of the gang:

Right to left:

This is Pierrette, Richards wife and Aunt to Davíð.
Next we have Anne's friend who traveled with her from Kanada. I will get back to you with her name, I am a little embarrassed to admit I can not think of it at the moment. Anne is another Aunt of Davíð.

Left to Right:
Inga, Már, Stína and Davíð
You know all these guys.

Stefáns - a real close up.
Look carefully to see freckles.

On the far right we see Anne writing
Ulfrún in the center. I love the white hair.
Left to Right:
Jaque (this might be spelled wrong but Kasper called his Jack), Stefán, Garpúr and Ulfrún
This is a better on with Sonia on the far right.
Side ways dogs!
Saga, on the left earned the bucket head from tearing up her paw.
I think Rósa was laughing at her.
I think Kristina is looking a little tired here, after all it was after 11.
Ah Rósa, my little doggy.
Sónia knows everything. Just ask her you will see.
She was a little shocked to hear we have the same last name, like there is no way we could be related.
Jaque quickly became Kaspers hero.
This is one tired couch surfer
Andre - our French Canadian.
He went with Davíð on a huge 5 day hike in the wilderness of Iceland. Davíð got really sun burned.
Siblings.
Siblings in a better light.
Anne!
I already introduced these guys.
This was when they came back from the hike.
The guys were really dirty.
There are always good times to be had on a trampoline.
A happy Davíð.
A very tired and jet lagged Sonia.
A cranky looking Davíð.
This is my car in the background, saving money on gas cause it has no tires.
We just use it to decorate Inga and Rob's yard now, Saskatchewan style
This is when Saga cut up her paw climbing the mountain. She got stitches.
Stefán.
Drugged up Saga.
Richard, Rob and Pierette, in the sun.
The backs of Kasper and his friend Viktor.
A sun bathing seal.
This must be the most dangerous looking playground equipment around.
So I let my kids play on it.
This is proof of gnome existence in Iceland. I am considering selling it to the Enquirer.

Our new friend
I got more fish!!!!!!
and a filter.
The first two are nothing special, just algae eaters to replace the ones that died in the summer.
But our newest fish is the coolest. It is called a Blue Shark and it looks like one! It eats fish food so i think the other fish are OK, but it is exciting.
It might not actually be called that, that is just what the lady at the pet store said but I can not find it online.
At least I hope our little shark stays little.

Snail Babies
The snails had some babies the other day and I was so proud.
Then the fish started eating them, and I was a little disgusted.
The survivors have grown and I am even more proud because although we may never know how many did not make it, we have about 50 left. At night they cover the glass.
Soon I will be looking for a home for these little guys. I will keep some - but not that many!
So if you want some, let me know. They cost a few hundred in the pet store and I share for free- what a deal.

Life
We have had an aquarium fore a year now and sometimes fish die.
Maybe a little young in our care, but we do our best.
But today was the first time I saw something happy - The snails had babies, or something like that. I do not know anything about snails.
Actually it kind of looks like eggs so I hope the fish leave them alone.
But I saw two baby snail! Tiny little spots crawling along the glass. Lucky guys, there is good eating in our aquarium.
Now I need to learn about snails of the freshwater variety.

Trouble in the Fish Tank
I am in the middle of doing a half cleaning of the aquarium.
Why? Well, I just went to give the fish dinner and saw my two algae eaters lying upside down at the bottom of the tank.
I am a little sad. I really liked them. They were so funny, always sucking on the glass.
I am also disappointed that I have lost 3 in three months now.
I don't know what it is. I think there is just enough algae, I give them vitamins, I do not have fish that are picking on them, so why are they always dying?
Well, I know what happened to the first one, he thought it would be a good idea to eat out of the filter. But the other two?
I am confused.

New Fish
I went to the fish store to buy some more fish yesterday. After the last couple massacres and heat waves, the place was looking a little empty.
Anyways, I met the greatest guy at the pet store that gave me more then twice the fish I asked for. Fish are very expensive, so I really appreciated the generosity.
I ended up with 8 ?neon tetras? 2 algae eaters (same as the one we had before, that died), three white fish with black spot (no idea what they are) and one that looks like a stripped fish (he eats the crap on the bottom).
2 tetras dies in the night, so I turned up the temperature and the rest seem better now.
Picky fish...
That was what I liked about the goldfish, they were almost impossible to kill. The bad thing is they are stupid and eat everything.
The kids like the Neon's because they swim in a school so they look like friends.
I hope these ones last a little longer...

What a find!
Stefan moved out the couch to get a toy car he had rolled under there and found a dead goldfish.
It must have been one of the ones from the heat wave when a bunch got sun stroke.
I guess he made a jump for it too, his brother did, but at least we saw him right away.
So this guy was all crusty with no eyes when Stefan carried him over to me. It was gross.

Freeing Fattie
Last night we set Fattie and Sharko (the last regular gold fish) free into Inga and Robert's pond.
It was a little sad, but they keep eating the other fish I tried to put in the aquarium, so they had to go.
Sharko will probably be eaten by the one trout that lives in the pond. He was a little small.
Fattie, well he was really fat, so I am sure he can fend for himself. He will probably gorge himself on algae for the rest of his days and die the size of a whale. (He was always trying to eat everything, including the plastic plants and thermometer)
So now we only have 2 fish, the retarded bottom feeder (who thinks he is a goldfish) and the fighting fish who looks dead every morning because he sleeps lying down on the bottom of the tank.
But now I can get more fish with out having to worry about if they will become a snack or not.

Too hot
not for me, but the fish.
They got a little too much sunlight today and the tank got to over 35 degrees, one fish is dead.
A few others look a little rough.
We cooled the water down but I think it might be a while before we see if it is safe again.
I am a little sad about this because I had a rabbit die from sun stroke when I was a kid.

New Fish
I bought 3 new fish today. One fighting fish, one spotty goldfish and one of those ones that sticks to the glass to clean alga.
It is so great to have time now to do these things.
Now my fish tank is looking so cool.
I even bought 2 new snails, they are black and white stripes. They look great.
I might need a larger aquarium soon.

Goldfish
I bought some gold fish the other day. I thought they would be great because they are so bright and tough. Perfect for a kids fish tank.
Then the little bastards started eating all the other fish. I am really mad at them. I know it does not do any good, but still, I am in shock.
They ate all the tetras. The black fish, the one that was fighting with all the other fish, hides for his life. The bottom feeder seems OK.
These gold fish are so violent. I even see them knocking the snails off the glass.
I had no idea they were like this.
I think we might have to flush them. I know it seems evil, but these fish are killers.

The missing fish
I found the missing fish. Actually I finally just saw him again. I guess he only comes out when it is dark and hides well.
It is to bad we do not see much of him but I am happy he was in the water not rotting behind Kasper's dresser.

1 snail down
We lost a snail today, I do not know why. It was young, so it was not from old age. I do not know what else could kill a snail.
Maybe this is only the first. Only time will tell.

Fish MIA
We bought some snails and a bottom feeder yesterday to help clean up the tank. It was already looking a little sick.
Anyways, the new additions seemed really happy at first. There was so much to eat. But not the new fish is gone. I have not seen him all day.
I looked everywhere. I even moved stuff around, in case he was hiding. He is gone.
The kids have not noticed yet but I will try to get a new one before they do.
It is so strange. I really hope he did not just out of the tank and is now rotting behind Kasper's dresser. That would be gross.

Golden Rocks
Or at least they should be.
The rocks for the fish tank cost more then the aquarium itself, and that came with an air pump, plastic hose, fish food and a plastic tree. All that was cheaper then, what looks like, gravel.

Fish
I did well in the fish game and have now treated myself to a fish tank.
Kasper thinks it is his but everyone knows kids never really look after there pets, so really they are my fish.
I do have fish yet. Soon. There are a few things I need like rocks. I have an air pump. I need to find our what else I need. I need to find a pet store.
