As if taking the bus was not inconvenient enough before, they had to cut the bus service even more.
I do not mean just cutting service on one or two routes, I mean all of them.
Before today the buses came by every 20 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes the rest of the time.
Now it is just every 30 minutes all the time.
They say the bus service is losing money, like public transport is supposed to make money, so they had no choice.
It is hardly cheap either, at almost 5.00 a trip you certainly think about walking a little more often.
Now even less people will take the bus.
The worst of it is that most people will not know about these changes until they try to go to work or school on Monday. There was an article in the paper, in Icelandic, yesterday saying there would be changes to the service but it does not say what the changes are.
A big part of the people who are on the bus are foreigners and there is a good chance that a lot of them do not speak Icelandic.
There is no news on the web site, which offers information in English.
How is anyone supposed to know?
